Hello everyone!
I’d like to introduce myself as your new HBPA Coordinator. My name is Jodie Hiesinger, and I’ve been
around the racetrack full-time since 2013. I actually started coming to the track as a teenager, working
summers and weekends, and eventually bought my first horse, Premium Port.

In 2013, I decided to pursue galloping and enrolled in the Exercise Rider and Jockey Training
Program at Olds College. After completing the program, I was placed with Rod Cone, and I have
worked for him ever since as an assistant trainer, exercise rider, and pony person.

While working for Rod, I’ve had the opportunity to travel extensively. We spent several winters in
Northern California at the now-closed Golden Gate Fields, where I also galloped for several large
trainers. I briefly galloped in Southern California as well, and spent two winters in Phoenix, Arizona
grooming, galloping, and ponying.

In May 2024, on opening day of the races, I was involved in a serious accident with my pony horse
that sidelined me for the entire meet. I faced challenges returning from my injury in 2025, but I didn’t
let it stop me.

In 2026, I’m looking forward to being back to full strength and continuing my duties in the barn, along
with taking on my new responsibilities in the office. I look forward to working with everyone and
meeting all the new people welcomed to our track
