1) Take notice that the digital papers or original certificates of claimed horses at Century Tracks ‘A’ Meet (CMR/CDR)

 will not be released until the end of the current year ‘A’ Track racing season, unless permission is given from Century

 Management. Permission may be granted for, but not limited to:

 a. Stakes Races $40,000 or larger

 b. Consistently poor performance

 c. Is the original owner at the beginning of the Century Racing Season

**Please note, in addition any horses involved in the HPBA shipping/purchase incentive program will also need

 written permission from the HBPA Executive Director.

 2) Century will not accept a thoroughbred or quarter horse entry on a horse which has been scratched due to lameness

 or sickness for six (6) days from the date of the race from which it was scratched.

 3) Before entering a Thoroughbred or Quarter Horse which has not started for a period of 365 days or more, or a

 horse 5 years of age or older with no career starts must

 a. have an official work [Thoroughbred: 5 furlongs or Quarter Horse: 220 yards] in front of the commission

 veterinarian and be approved to race

 b. be given clearance to race from the race office and the board of stewards

 4) Any Thoroughbred or Quarter Horse placed on the starters list, will be required to stand/school a minimum two

 times in the presence of the starter prior to being allowed to enter.

 5) Eight (8) Horse Gate Size limitation on:

 a. Two-year-old races at 5 Furlongs or Less

 b. any 870-yard races

 6) All Starter Allowance Races/Less not Considered allowances, are based on base claiming races for Alberta Breds.

 7) The alteration or change of sex of horses will be strictly enforced. Changes must be made aware to the racing office

 prior to entering. Failure to do so will immediately be reported to the Board of Stewards

 8) The Race Office can refuse the entry of any horse at any time. Owners, Trainers, and Authorized agents are the only

 persons permitted to make entries.

 9) No horse will be permitted on the ground without permission from the Racing Secretary.

 10) Prior to arrival for flat racing, trainers are required to have Alberta Workers Compensation.

 11) Entries will not be taken without a negative coggins certificate on file in the race office ( raceoffi[email protected] ) valid

 through the date of the race.

 12) Horses that are in-to race, including also eligibles, must have a sign (Horse In To Race) posted on each stall door.

 Please refer to HRA (Horse Racing Alberta) for signs and policy.

 13) Any change in distance to a book race, said condition loses preference over all other races.

 14) First-time starters must have an official recorded gate work within forty-five (45) days of their first start.

 15) First time Thoroughbred two-year-old starters must have at least the following to run

 a. 3.5 furlongs or shorter: a two and three furlong work (CDR)

 b. 5.5 furlongs or shorter: a three and four furlong work (CMR)

 c. 6 furlongs or farther: a five furlong work

 16) In races with six (6) or less entries, double trainer entries will be counted as one (1) in the rundown.

 17) If a horse races within a period of thirty (30) days from the date it was scratched, that horse is subject to be

 claimed at a total price no greater than the amount for which it could have been claimed for in the race from

 which it was scratched unless the horse is entered in a sweepstakes, stakes or handicap race.

 18) Any jockey who refuses to take mounts will be prohibited from working in the barn area on those race nights.

 19) Only carded jockeys and the room rider are permitted in the jockeys room 2 hours prior to the start of the first
