2024 people Housing Relief Subsidy
The Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association (HBPA) of Alberta has rolled out an housing subsidy program aimed specifically for Trainers, Exercise Riders, Grooms, Jockeys, and Pony People. This initiative is designed to alleviate the financial burdens associated with housing for those who have dedicated their time and effort to work at both Century Mile and Century Downs racetracks.

What You Need to Know:
One Time Program 

Payment will be $1,000 on a 
First Come, First Serve Basis 
Are You Eligible?

Horse Race Alberta License 

You must be licensed by Horse Racing Alberta (HRA) as an Trainer, Exercise Rider, Groom, Jockey, and/or Pony Person.
Work Record For 2024 Racing Season

It is mandatory that employees have worked at both Century Mile and Century Downs tracks.
Proof of Accommodation

 Applicants must provide receipts or proof of payment for accommodations from both locations.
Application Deadline

Application deadline will be August 15th with the payment deadline being November 15th as long as supporting receipts have been submitted.
